Our month was one to remember. \u00a0Not just at the table but also in all of our lives. \u00a0We have two members that are expecting new additions to their family. \u00a0Lots of new friends were introduced to the group. \u00a0I’m really excited to see what the remaining months of summer have in store for the game group. \u00a0I’m hoping that this will include bonfires, beaches, hikes, drinks, and meeples. \u00a0Let us dive right into the meat and potatoes of the data collected. \u00a0<\/p>\n

This month has proven to me the validity of paying for a Meetup page. \u00a0This has provided another two new members that might not have found us normally. \u00a0I’m very pleased to see that the money spent is definitely paying dividends. \u00a0The Facebook page has also brought in one new gamer which also is very exciting. \u00a0This rise in attendance seems to be growing exponentially which has got me thinking of changes in order to accommodate. \u00a0Previously we have been using table clothes to designate which tables are being used by the group. \u00a0We have had some space issues lately so I’m planning on setting up a third table to space things out. \u00a0This obviously has to be communicated with the brewery that we go to but considering the consistence of patronage I think it won’t be an issue.<\/p>\n

I’ve also decided that with new players coming in consistently that some classics will have to be present that are easy to teach no matter who is available. \u00a0This will help to get these new players to the table with ease and without the hassle of learning a game that is still unfamiliar for the teacher. \u00a0These games will include Splendor, Patchwork, Blokus, Concept, Animal Upon Animal, and Love Letter. \u00a0These may be increased when new classics come to light but this will do for now. \u00a0I will experiment with as any new games as possible to feel out which games will work for this purpose.<\/p>\n

We decided also to adjust the start time of game night to 4 p.m. instead of 2 p.m. so players can enjoy the summer. \u00a0Michigan has such a long winter that is perfect for our hobby but summer has such a shallow window of opportunity. \u00a0I would like to not compete for people’s time when it comes to our summer.<\/p>\n
