Hi, guys! It’s time for another installation of our TCBG interviews. Today, we’re talking to Kristian. He has been joining us for game nights for about a year. Without further ado, let’s find out more about Kristian.
How did your board game journey start?
It started back in high school. There was a group of guys that I played video games with and someone brought over Catan. That was it. It was the gateway game. Once I played Cities and Knights (an expansion to Catan), I was hooked. I remember saving up so that I could buy it on eBay.
What style of board game do you prefer?
I like worker placement games and that genre. I like games where there are lots of different pathways to winning.
What are your current top games?
Fool’s Gold, Terraforming Mars, and Cities & Knights.
How would you describe yourself as a gamer?
I’m calm and calculating.
What has been your greatest achievement in board gaming?
I’d have to say meeting new friends and gaining a new social outlook.
Where would you like to see TCBG go in the future?
I’d like to see more tournaments. I know that planning them is difficult, but I really like the idea of tournaments.
When you aren’t playing games with TCBG, what else do you enjoy doing?
I’ve got a 7 and 3 year old at home, so I’ve been teaching them how to play games. I also enjoy losing games to my wife.
